▼ 호텔에서 출발합니다. 새벽 4시 좀 넘었습니다.Leaving the hotel. It's around 4 AM.
▼ 그랩 택시를 탔습니다. 태국에서는 우버가 불법이라고 합니다. 그래서 Grab Taxi 어플로 잘 타고 다녔습니다. Navalai Hotel (카오산로드 근처)에서부터 돈무앙공항까지 택시비는 220바트 나왔네요. 새벽 4시반쯤이어서 막히지도 않고 좋았습니다. 타이라이온에어 국내선은 터미널2이지만 저희는 국제선이라서 터미널1로 왔습니다. In Thailand, Uber is illegal. So I used Grab Taxi. From Navalai Hotel (Near Khaosan road) to DMK airport, it costed about 220 bhats. There was no traffic considering it was only 4AM in the morning. Domestic flights for Thai Lion Air departs from terminal 2 but since our flight was an international flight, we went to Terminal 1.

▼ 공항 내부는 이렇게 생겼습니다. 돈무앙공항은 어릴때 수완나품공항 없던시절에는 BKK코드를 달고 방콕의 관문이었지만 현재 김포공항이 인천공항에게 그 역할을 넘겨준 것처럼 수완나품공항에게 BKK를 넘기고 DMK라는 코드로 운영되고있습니다. 김포처럼 국내선위주지만 국제선도 있습니다. This is the DMK Terminal 1. DMK airport used to be the main gateway to Bangkok before Suvarnabhumi Airport was built. It used to use the airport code BKK back then. Just like GMP airport handing over its main gateway position to ICN airport, Don Mueang handed its position to BKK airport along with the airport code (BKK) and started using BMK. It is mainly the domestic airport but still serves international routes as well.
▼ 안으로 들어와서 첫 번째 라운지를 와봤습니다. 이곳은 The Coral Executive Lounge입니다. 24시간 운영합니다. This is the first lounge I visited called "The Coral Executive Lounge". It is operated 24 hours.
▼ 이곳에서 아침밥을 먹습니다. I had breakfast here.
▼ 이곳은 두번째 라운지, Miracle Lounge입니다. 에스칼레이터를 타고 내려가야 라운지가 나옵니다. 라운지 투어를 해봅니다. 어차피 라운지입장이 무료인 PP카드가 있으므로 횟수 제한없이 마음껏 구경합니다. ㅎㅎ This is the second lounge I visited, the Miracle Lounge. You have to take the escalator down to the lounge. I'm enjoying my lounge tour with priority pass.
▼ 첫번째 라운지에서 밥을 먹고와서 여기서는 디저트만 먹습니다. 저기 보이는 에스컬레이터로 올라가면 다시 게이트쪽으로 갈수 있습니다. Since I had my meal in the first lounge, I had light dessert here. You have to use the escalator shown in the picture to get to the gates.
▼ 게이트... 시외버스 터미널같은 느낌입니다. 브리지로 탑승하지 않고 버스로 이동합니다. It looks like an express bus terminal. You take the bus to the plane instead through the bridge.

▼ 동남아쪽은 아무래도 저런 거대한 구름 덩어리들이 많습니다. You can see huge chuck of clouds more often in the South East Asian skies.

▼ 아마 말레이반도 동쪽을 따라서 남쪽방향으로 비행한듯합니다. 땅을 경계로 땅 위에만 구름이 있어서 신기해서 촬영했습니다. It seems like we were flying south along the eastern coast of the Malay peninsular. I took the picture with interest since there were clouds only above the land.
▼ 기내는 조용합니다. It's quiet in the cabin.
▼ 싱가폴의 동쪽을 따라서 남하해서 우회전합니다. 저기 창이공항이 보이는군요. Banking right along the eastern Singapore area. You can see the Changi airport!
▼ 싱가폴은 유명한 무역항이죠. 역시 명성답게 많은 배들이 보입니다. Singapore is famous for its seaport. You can see many huge ships near Singapore.
▼ 싱가폴 동쪽끝에 자리잡은 창이공항으로 접근합니다. 남쪽에서 북쪽방향으로 이동중입니다. We are flying north approaching from south of the island. Changi airport is situated in the eastern corner of the island.
▼ 싱가폴 창이공항 도착! 싱가폴은 제 마음속 제2의 고향입니다. 1995~2000년까지 제 초등학교 고학년 ~ 중학교 중반까지 여기서 살았죠. Arrived in Singapore! Singapore is my second hometown. I lived here from 1995~2000.
▼ 내리면서 보니 오른쪽에 싱가폴 항공의 A380이 보이는군요. 싱가폴 항공이 A380을 제일 처음으로 사용하기 시작한 Launch Customer이죠. I can see the Singapore Airlines's A380 to the right. They are the Launch customer of A380.
▼ 왼쪽에도 A380이 있습니다. Another A380 to the left!
▼ 거대한 비만 고래같은 느낌. It looks like an over-weight whale.. :)
▼ 저희를 방콕에서 싱가폴까지 데려다준 비행기는 초라해보입니다...만 수고해줬으니 박수! The plane that flew us from Bangkok to Singapore looks relatively small but it did a great job!
▼ 싱가폴 창이공항은 항상 인천공항과 함께 세계 공항 순위1위를 두고 경쟁하고 있죠. 제가 90년대말에 싱가폴 살때만해도 거의 원톱이었던걸로 기억합니다. 그래서 매번 싱가폴에서 김포공항으로 도착하면 공항이 좀 아쉽고 싱가폴창이공항처럼 빨리 우리나라도 좋아졌으면 했던 기억이 항상 났습니다. 그래서 인천공항이 처음 지어질때 홈페이지에 들어가보면 공사 진행률이 %로 떴는데 그때 종종 들어가서 언제 완공되나 봤던 기억도 나네요. SIN is rivaling ICN airport for the best airport title for many years. When I was in Singapore back in late 90's, SIN was probably the best airport. So I always wished Korea would build a better airport like Changi. From time to time, I used to check how much they've finished building ICN airport in their webpage back then.
▼ 2000년에 한국으로 돌아오고, 2005년, 2010년에 한번씩 싱가폴을 와보고 8년만에 다시와본 창이공항은 좋아보이긴 하지만 제 생각엔 인천공항이 더 좋은듯합니다 ㅎㅎ It's been 8 years since my last visit to Singapore. I left Singapore back in 2000, visited in 2005 and 2010 after then.

▼ 제가 살때는 한참 창이공항행 MRT공사를 하고 있었는데 이제 시내로 가는것이 참 편해졌습니다. 예전에 항상 택시타고 ECP고속도로를 달려서 도심으로 갔었는데.. Back in 2000, MRT bound for Changi airport was under construction. Now it is so convenient. We used to take taxi along the ECP highway to downtown before the MRT was connected to the airport.
